Chrandal Creek Fire Burns 2,200 Acres

(SALMON) – A fire burning in the Salmon-Challis and Bitterroot National Forests has now grown to more than 2,200 acres. The lightning-sparked Chrandal Creek Fire was 40 percent contained as of Monday, and crews continue to battle the fire along the Idaho-Montana border. Residents in the area of Hughes Creek, Mont. are on alert for a potential evacuation if necessary.
