(TORONTO) — First baseman Edwin Encarnacion and the Toronto Blue Jays agreed to a three-year contract extension Thursday, worth $27 million. The deal includes a $10 million club option for the 2016 season.
“I feel great,” Encarnacion said. “Very happy to continue to be part of this organization for the next three years. I want to stay here, I love Toronto, I love the fans here.”
The 29-year-old Encarnacion is batting .295 with 23 home runs and 58 RBI this season.
