High Spud Yields Drive Down Prices

(IDAHO FALLS) – High yields and increased acreage are driving down the region’s potato prices. After two years of dwindling crops, mother nature has finally given local farmers a break. Still, experts say there’s a lot that can happen between now and September. Idaho leads the nation with nearly one-third of the country’s annual potato crop. Officials say regional farmers planted 45,000 more acres of spuds this year than they did last year.
