(New York) — Luis Scola is now a Phoenix Sun. The 32-year-old was claimed by the team by winning an amnesty auction.
All NBA teams were notified Sunday evening that the Suns won the blind auction for Scola.
“We are excited to have won the bid for Luis Scola and to add a player of his caliber to our roster,” Suns President of Basketball Operations Lon Babby said in a statement. “We greatly value the production he will bring and the leadership he will provide to our younger players.”
Scola averaged 15.5 points and 6.5 rebounds a game last season for the Houston Rockets.
