“Marc-Edouard has grown into an important part of our organization over the last six seasons,” Sharks general manager Doug Wilson said. “He can play in all situations and has blossomed into a very trusted player on both sides of the puck. We are very happy to have him on our team for the next six seasons.”
Vlasic’s new contract won’t start until the 2013-2014 season. He will be payed $3.1 million next season.
The 25-year-old Vlasic was selected in the second round of the 2005 NHL Draft by the Sharks. He has played all six of his NHL seasons with the team. In those six seasons he only played in less-than 80 games once. He scored four goals and dished out 19 assists last season.
