(ISLAND PARK, ID)   —    Two Yellowstone bison were killed last week after wandering into the Island Park area. State officials cited concerns that the bison might spread disease to domesticated cattle. The first bison was killed Thursday near The Nature Conservancy’s Flat Ranch. The second was killed Saturday north of Mack’s Inn. Wildlife advocates protested the killings, citing concerns that bison are naturally drawn to ancient migration routes over Targhee Pass.
