(DENVER) — Goalie Jean-Sebastien Giguere signed a one-year contract extension that is worth $1.5 million, according to Mike Chambers of the Denver Post.
Giguere still has a year left on his current contract so he is now signed through the 2013-14 season.
“J.S. provided leadership, stability and a veteran presence to our team last season,” Colorado general manager Greg Sherman said in a statement. “He helped solidify our goaltending position.”
Giguere, 35, played in 32 games last season posting a 15-11-3 record, with 2.28 goals against average and a .919 saves percentage.
