(NEW YORK) — Don’t be surprised if you see a lot of singing and dancing on next year’s Oscars telecast.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced Thursday that Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, the executive producers of the Oscar-winning film adaptation of the musical Chicago, will produce the 85th Academy Awards.
Zadan and Meron’s film credits also include the remakes of Footloose and Hairspray, as well as The Bucket List. They also produce the NBC musical series Smash.
ABC will air the Oscars live from Hollywood on Feb. 24, 2013. A host has not yet been named.
ABC will also televise next month’s Emmy Awards. The network announced on Thursday that Good Morning America personalities Josh Elliott and Lara Spencer, The Bachelor’s Chris Harrison and The Chew’s Clinton Kelly will co-host its one-hour Emmys red carpet special on Sunday, Sept. 23. It will be followed by the 64th Primetime Emmy Awards, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel.
