Jessica Simpson’s Dad Busted for DUI

Mark Sullivan/WireImage(LOS ANGELES) — While Jessica Simpson is busy working off her baby weight, her father, Joe Simpson, is getting into trouble in Los Angeles.
Simpson’s father was arrested Aug. 4 for driving under the influence. He was stopped about 10:15 p.m. on Ventura Blvd. in Sherman Oaks, according to Officer Rosario Herrera of the Los Angeles County Police.
The 54-year-old former minister spent the night in jail and was released Sunday at 9:40 a.m.
This is the first DUI offense for Simpson.
While her father was getting into trouble, Jessica Simpson was enjoying a drink of her own.
“Responsibility has drastically changed my life! Saturday night drink of choice…. WATER! :)” the singer tweeted Aug. 4.
The 32-year-old songstress gave birth to her first baby, daughter Maxwell Drew Johnson. Fiance Drew Johnson is the dad. The singer is working on losing the baby weight as the spokeswoman for Weight Watchers.
