(LOS ANGELES) — Former Los Angeles Lakers forward Matt Barnes was released from jail after being arrested on suspicion of threatening a police officer who stopped him for a traffic warrant.
Barnes was arrested on a misdemeanor warrant for driving with a suspended license.
Police say Barnes allegedly made a verbal threat to the officer who was issuing him the ticket.
Barnes, a free agent, averaged 7.8 points per game last season for the Lakers. Barnes has played for eight different franchises over a nine-year NBA career.
