Strasburg’s Teammates Rally Behind Him

Norm Hall/Getty Images(WASHINGTON) -- The speculation continues: Will the Washington Nationals shut down Stephen Strasburg?

Coming off of Tommy John Surgery, the team has put Strasburg on an innings limit this season but that hasn't gone over well with some of his teammates.

"You take one of the best pitchers off any team that has a chance to make it to the postseason and it's devastating," infielder Mark DeRosa said told USA Today. "At the same time, we knew it going in."

"If there's a decision to be made, it's their decision," first baseman Michael Morse told USA Today. "I'm pretty sure whatever we think isn't going to matter."

The Nationals are in the running to make the postseason for the first time since the team moved to Washington, and Strasburg has been one of the best pitchers in baseball.

The 24-year-old Strasburg is 13-5 this season with a 2.90 ERA. He also leads the National League with 166 strikeouts.
