Fewer People Seeking Work Drops Unemployment

(BOISE) – Idaho’s unemployment rate fell to 7.4 percent in August, but numbers can be deceiving. State officials say the seasonally-adjusted change doesn’t mean more people are finding jobs, but have stopped receiving unemployment benefits. They estimate that at least 15,000 Idahoans have exhausted their unemployment benefits without finding new jobs since 2009. More than 57,000 Gem State residents are still on unemployment.
