(LOS ANGELES) — The highly anticipated TV movie, Liz and Dick, which has been described as troubled actress’ Lindsay Lohan’s comeback film, will premiere on Lifetime November 25, the cable channel announced Monday.
The Mean Girls actress portrays Elizabeth Taylor opposite Grant Bowler, who plays Richard Burton. The Lifetime original movie centers on the famous couple’s torrid love affair.
“I have always admired and had enormous respect for Elizabeth Taylor. She was not only an incredible actress but an amazing woman as well,” Lohan said back in April on her role. “I am very honored to have been asked to play this role.”
News of Lohan portraying the iconic movie star came after her successful completion of court-mandated community service and therapy sessions, following a 2007 DUI case in Beverly Hills. Still, Lohan remains on informal probation for a 2011 shoplifting conviction; and has been plagued with bad press due to an alleged hit-and-run in New York City and a recent scuffle with a congressional aide regarding cell phone photos.
