(SANTA CLARA, Calif.) — San Francisco 49ers return specialist Kyle Williams will miss the remainder of the season with a torn ligament in his left knee. The third-year wide receiver says he suffered the injury during Sunday’s 31-21 victory over the New Orleans Saints.
The 24-year-old Williams made the announcement on his Twitter account Monday.
“We’ll see,” 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh said of Williams’ status. “We haven’t gotten the final report and we wait to we get that before we brief Kyle.”
Williams is averaging 27.2 yards in 13 kick returns this season.
