(JACKSON, Wyo.) – A group of hunters participating in an elk reduction program in Grand Teton National Park shot and killed a grizzly bear Thanksgiving morning.
According to officials, the bear charged three men in an area along the east side of the Snake River near the Teton Point Overlook. Authorities say the kill was the 51 confirmed grizzly fatality in the Greater Yellowstone area this year.
All hunters participating in the park’s program are required to carry bear spray and have it immediately available.
