Israel Considers Distributing Medical Marijuana
Published at(LONDON) — Medical use of marijuana is still a hotly contested topic in the U.S., but not in Israel where the country’s health ministry is considering the distribution of medical marijuana through pharmacies.
Marijuana is illegal in Israel, but medical use has been allowed since the early 1990’s. Senior rabbis have also approved the use of marijuana for medical purposes.
Currently, one of about eight government sanctioned growers claims to have developed a marijuana strain with all the medical benefits but without THC, the psychoactive chemical component that causes a high.
