(HOMESTEAD, Fla.) — James Beuscher won the 2012 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series championship after he finished in 13th at the Ford EcoBoost 200 at Homestead-Miami Speedway on Friday night.
Cale Gale beat Kyle Busch by .0014 seconds for his first career victory, but it was Beuscher’s night.
“We did what we had to do to win the championship,” said Buescher, who won four races this season. “It worked out in our favor. I’ve got to thank everybody on this team.”
“It’s been a phenomenal year for my racing career and my personal life, I feel really blessed.”
Ty Dillon was Beuscher’s closest challenge at the championship, but was knocked from contention late in the race when rookie Kyle Larson made contact with Dillon’s car, sending both into the wall.
“I’m not blaming (Larson) for what happened,” said Dillon. “It’s just a racing move. Probably could have been avoided with patience from both sides.”
