Pooley/Getty Images(NEWINGTON, N.H.) — Kicking off the day filled with four campaign events spread across three crucial swing states, Mitt Romney said on Saturday morning that unlike the president, he is urging Americans to vote for love, not revenge.

Romney drew on remarks made by President Obama on Friday at an event in Ohio, during which the President urged supporters to head to the polls saying, “Voting is the best revenge.”

Romney said on Saturday that the remark likely “surprised a lot of people.”

“Speaking to an audience he said you know voting is the best revenge,” said Romney. “He told his supporters, voting for revenge. Vote for revenge?”

“Let me tell you what I’d like to tell you: Vote for love of country,” he said. “It is time we lead America to a better place.”

Romney’s campaign also released a campaign ad touting the line from Obama Saturday morning titled “Revenge Or Love Of Country,” the ad asking viewers, “On Tuesday, what will be your reason for voting?”

The latest polls show a tight race in New Hampshire, where recent polls show Romney and Obama within the margin of error. Romney, who has a home in northern New Hampshire and is well-known in the state thanks to his governorship across the border in Massachusetts, said here on Saturday he believes the Granite State’s four electoral votes could help him clinch the White House next week, reflecting back on his primary win here that helped propel his candidacy earlier this year.

“Thank you New Hampshire!” Romney shouted to the crowd, gathered on the tarmac in front of his campaign plane. “New Hampshire got me the Republican nomination and New Hampshire is going to get me the White House!”
