(FORT HALL) – Members of the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes have approved a measure allowing for the sale of alcohol at the new Sho-Ban Hotel and Events Center.
The non-binding vote passed with 251 in favor and 151 in opposition. Attorneys will now work with the Tribal Council to consider how to create a new liquor tax.
Officials say sales of beer and wine will not take place for several more months. Alcohol will not be sold at any other locations on the reservation.
