(BOISE) – The U.S. Department of Justice and the Bureau of Land Management have reached an agreement with Custer County resolving a dispute over the county’s roads and trails.

The county has agreed to halt plans to reopen a section of Herd Creek Road, which accesses the Jerry Peak Wilderness Study Area.

The county agreed to not interfere with the work responsibilities of BLM employees, prompting federal officials to drop the lawsuit.
