(LOS ANGELES) — An agreement was reached Wednesday in the custody case involving a teen star of the sitcom Modern Family.
Ariel Winter, 14, who plays the nerdy daughter Alex Dunphy on the show, will continue to live with her adult sister, Shanelle Gray. Under the agreement, Gray has custody, the whole family will go into counseling, and Winter’s father will control the finances.
Winter’s mother, Chrisoula Workman, agreed to not have any involvement in her daughter’s career.
Gray was awarded temporary custody of her sister in November, when Los Angeles child protective authorities reportedly found evidence that Workman was emotionally abusive to the Modern Family star.
