(TORONTO) — Toronto Raptors rookie center Jonas Valanciunas is expected to miss the next four to six weeks due to a fractured metacarpal on the ring finger of his right hand.
Valanciunas, who broke the finger during a scrum for a loose ball in the Raptors win over the Orlando Magic Dec. 21, will not require surgery.
Valanciunas was drafted with the 5th pick in the 2011 draft but decided to play last season in his home country of Lithuania.
Valanciunas has started all 28 games he played in this season for the Raptors, and has averaged 7.8 points and 5.3 rebounds per game.
