Report: Janet Jackson Engaged to Wealthy Businessman Wissam Al Mana

D Dipasupil/FilmMagic(NEW YORK) — Janet Jackson and her boyfriend, Qatari businessman Wissam Al Mana, reportedly are engaged. Wissam — who’s a billionaire, by some accounts — has plenty of dough, and he’s prepared to spend millions of it on his and Janet’s reported wedding this spring in Qatar, a source tells Us Weekly.
The source says that Wissam popped the question to Janet earlier this year, presenting her with a “huge, expensive ring,” which she keeps hidden away. “She’s afraid it will get lost, so she keeps it locked up!” the source tells Us Weekly.
Wissam’s generosity doesn’t stop there, though. “He is flying in all of Janet’s friends and family on private jets,” a source tells Us Weekly. That’s no easy feat, considering that Janet has seven siblings and more than 20 nieces and nephews.
This will be ceremony number three for Janet, whose marriage to fellow singer James DeBarge was annulled in 1985, shortly after they eloped in late 1984. In 1991, she married dancer, songwriter and director Rene Elizondo, Jr. They managed to keep their relationship a secret until their divorce in 2000.
Janet dated Jermaine Dupri until 2009, and for the past two years she’s been with Wissam. Earlier this month, the pair were spotted shopping in West Hollywood, and over the summer, they enjoyed yachting in Italy.
“She wants kids,” a source tells Us Weekly. “If she can’t have them, she will adopt.”
