(NEW YORK) — For the second time this month, Twitter has experienced an outage.
While service has been restored to many users, many experienced issues accessing Twitter.com and Twitter’s third-party mobile applications earlier Thursday morning.
Twitter’s new video sharing service, Vine, also experienced a service disruption.
“Some users may be experiencing issues accessing Twitter. Our engineers are currently working to resolve the issue,” Twitter posted on its status blog at 10:25 a.m. ET on Thursday.
Just 10 days earlier, on Inauguration day, Twitter had the same issue. Many were unable to send 140-character messages or get to the site. The company posted the same statement on its blog on Jan. 21.
Twitter used to be infamous for such periodic outages and the appearance of the “fail whale” error page, which many are seeing Thursday. It has substantially improved its server capacity in the past two years. However, in July there were similar widespread outages.
