(NEW YORK) — Former LSU star defensive back Tyrann “Honey Badger” Mathieu announced via Twitter that he will be attending the NFL scouting combine in February.
The 2011 Heisman Trophy finalist was dismissed from the LSU team last August for failing a drug test. He was also arrested in October for drug possession.
Mathieu spent time at the Senior Bowl practice earlier this week attempting to show NFL teams that he has changed his ways.
He is well aware that his behavior will be under the microscope just as much as his skills on the football field.
“This is my last shot,” Mathieu said. “You’ve got to learn when to do things and when not to do things, when to party and when not to party. Every day is football. That’s the biggest thing I got out of it. I’m just ready to live a football life.”
The combine will be held in Indianapolis from Feb. 20-26.
