(BOISE, ID)  —  Idaho has the highest percentage of minimum wage workers in the nation, according to a new report from the U.S. Bureau of Labor. Nearly 31,000 workers were paid only $7.25 per hour last year, up by more than 12,000 from 2011. Officials say 75 percent of Idaho’s jobs created in 2012 were in the service sector, where qualifications are minimal and wages are naturally low. Nationally, 4.7 percent of hourly workers are paid minimum wage.
