James became the first player in NBA history to score at least 30 points and shoot 60 percent from the field in six straight games during Miami’s 117-104 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers at AmericanAirlines Arena.

“I’m at a loss for words,” James said in a television interview after the game. “Like I say over and over, I know the history of the game. I know how many unbelievable players who came through the ranks, who paved the way for me and my teammates. And for me to be in the record books by myself with such a stat — any stat — it’s big-time.”

James scored exactly 30 points on 11-of-15 shooting and eclipsed Moses Malone and Adrian Dantley who each accomplished the feat in five straight games.

Miami (35-14) went on a 14-0 run to seal the game against Portland (25-27) after squandering a couple of big leads.
