Jeff Vinnick/NHLI via Getty Images(VANCOUVER, British Columbia) — The Vancouver Canucks announced Wednesday that center Ryan Kesler has a broken right foot and will be out indefinitely.
“Any fracture is usually 4-6 weeks depending on the nature of the fracture,” Canucks head coach Alain Vigneault said. “Some are less, Hairline fractures or whatever. So I haven’t gotten any length from our doctors how long this one is going to be.”
Vigneault says that the timing of the injury is unknown and that Kesler may have been playing with it before it was revealed he had broken the foot.
This is the second time this season Kesler will miss time due to an injury. He missed the first 12 games of the season recovering from shoulder and wrist surgeries.
In seven games this season, Kesler has one goal and four assists.
