(KNOXVILLE, Tenn.) — The Tennessee Volunteers are picking a nice time to get on a winning streak.
The Volunteers won their sixth straight game on Tuesday by defeating eigth-ranked Florida, 64-58 to boost their NCAA tournament chances.
Jordan McRae scored 27 points for the Vols (17-10) in the win, but isn’t thinking about Selection Sunday.
“I keep saying the same answer,” McRae said. “We won this one. We’ll try to win the next one and try to win the next one. We’re not looking at the SEC (standings). We’re not trying to find out what seed we’re going to be.”
Florida (22-5) has lost two of its last three games. “The only thing I thought we could have done better is that I thought we gave up one or two threes to him out of the press, which I thought hurt us a little bit,” Florida coach Billy Donovan said.
