Kevin C. Cox/Getty Images(LEXINGTON, Ky.) —  Russ Smith scored 23 points and set a school NCAA tournament record with eight steals to lead No. 1 Louisville to a 79-48 drubbing of North Carolina A&T on Thursday evening.

Guard Peyton Siva chipped in six points and eight assists, but it was the defense that was most impressive. Louisville totaled 20 steals as a team, breaking the previous tournament mark of 19.

The Cardinals (30-5) won their 11th-straight game. The Big East tournament champions will play the Missouri/Colorado State winner on Saturday.

The Aggies (20-17) were led by forward Bruce Beckford’s 12 points.  The team won its first-ever NCAA tournament game on Tuesday night, knocking off Liberty to advance to the second round.
