Sources: Diamondbacks Agree to Five-Year Extension With Paul Goldschmidt
Published at(PHOENIX) — The Arizona Diamondbacks have agreed to a five-year, $32 million contract extension with first baseman Paul Goldschmidt, according to ESPN’s Jim Bowden.
The extension also includes a a club option of $14.5 million in 2018.
The 25-year-old Goldschmidt hit .286 with 20 home runs, 82 RBIs and a .359 on-base-percentage in 2012, his first full season in the major leagues.
The Diamondbacks and Goldschmidt’s people had been negotiating throughout the spring.
