(NEW YORK) — With this year’s host Seth MacFarlane reportedly saying “No way,” and ditto for another possible host, Tina Fey, the New York Post reports on Friday that the next emcee for the telecast will be found in-house for ABC: Jimmy Kimmel.
“Jimmy is favored to host the Oscars next year,” a source tells the paper. “ABC has been pushing him for the role.”
While ratings for the ABC late night host’s post-Oscar special were bigger than ever, the decision is far from settled, cautions an Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences source.
“It is way too early,” the spy says, explaining the choice won’t be made until the Academy picks a new president.
