(TUCSON, Ariz.) — Arizona junior wide receiver Austin Hill tore his ACL during practice on Wednesday, head coach Rich Rodriguez announced Saturday.
“It wasn’t an ACL, MCL and all that. It was just an ACL,” Rodriguez said. “He will have surgery as soon as possible and get going on rehab. I don’t know the timeframe for him being back. But the way technology is today, he will be back bigger and stronger.”
Last season as sophomore, Hill led all Wildcats receivers with 81 receptions for 1,364 yards and 11 touchdowns. His yardage total from 2012 trails only USC All-American Marqise Lee for all returning FBS receivers.
