Chris Young Agrees to New Minor League Deal with Nationals
Major League Baseball
(WASHINGTON) -- After leaving just over a week ago, pitcher Chris Young is back with the Washington Nationals organization.
Young agreed to a minor league deal with the Nationals Thursday. Young opted-out of his past minor-league deal with the club just over a week ago in hopes of landing a guaranteed major league deal. He didn't and now he's back with the Nationals.
Young provides the Nationals with starting pitching depth in case of an injury. He will report to the Nationals' spring training site in Florida before joining Triple-A Syracuse.
In 159 career starts, the 33-year-old right-hander is 53-43 with a 3.79 ERA.
