That’s because CBS aired the conclusion of the NCAA men’s college basketball tournament.  The network’s broadcast of the University of Louisville’s win over the University of Michigan in the final averaged 20.7 million viewers, according to TVGuide.com.

NBC’s The Voice was seen by 13.7 million people on Monday night, while ABC’s Dancing with the Stars attracted 12.9 million.

For the week ending Sunday, the CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory was the most-watched primetime program, with an audience of 17.24 million viewers.

Of note: American Idol failed to make the Nielsen’s top 10, another indication of the Fox singing competition’s declining popularity.

CBS won the network ratings race for last week, followed by ABC, NBC, Fox, Univision, Telemundo, the CW and ION Television.

Here are the top 10 primetime programs for the week of April 1-7, according to the Nielsen Company:

1. The Big Bang Theory, CBS, 17.24 million
2. NCAA Final Four: Syracuse vs. Michigan, CBS, 17.1 million
3. Academy of Country Music Awards, CBS, 15.51 million
