Seahawks Reward Safety Kam Chancellor with Contract Extension
Published at(NEW YORK) — The Seattle Seahawks are taking the necessary steps to make sure their stout defense stays in tact. The team has rewarded safety Kam Chancellor to a multi-year contract extension.
“I’ve got so many words it’s hard to throw them out there. I just feel great right now,” Chancellor said. “The Seahawks organization has blessed me. It just feels good. I’m a happy person right now.”
Chancellor’s deal with the Seahawks is worth $35 million over five years, and he will receive $17 million in guaranteed money, according to ESPN.
Since becoming a full-time starter in 2011, Chancellor has been a tackling machine for the Seahawks. In 2011 he recorded 97 tackles, and last season he had 101 tackles. Even though he already has a Pro Bowl under his belt, Chancellor only turned 25 recently.
