“Star Wars” Actor Richard LeParmentier Dead
Published at(NEW YORK) — Star Wars actor Richard LeParmentier has died. The veteran performer was best known as Admiral Motti — the guy in the 1977 original who Darth Vader telepathically chokes over his “disturbing” lack of faith in the Force.
The 66-year-old Pittsburgh native — who also read for the role of Han Solo — died suddenly Tuesday morning while visiting children in Austin, Texas, his spokesman told the Clarion-Ledger.
LeParmentier appeared on television in the U.K. and in dozens of films, including Who Framed Roger Rabbit? and Superman II.
