(NEW YORK) — Carmelo Anthony scored 24 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as the New York Knicks crushed the Boston Celtics 108-89 Sunday night for their eighth straight victory.
J.R. Smith added 15 points as the Knicks (46-26) moved closer to the Atlantic Division title and their goal of 50 regular-season wins.
“It’s very doable for us and we have something to look forward to,” Anthony said. “Fifty wins is always a great thing in this league to accomplish, winning a division is always a great thing to accomplish, a great accomplishment in this league. So them two things are definitely doable, we’ve just got to keep it moving, keep it going.”
Jeff Green led the Celtics (38-35) with 27 points while Paul Pierce had 24 points and 15 rebounds.
The Knicks currently have the longest winning streak in the NBA.
