Fatal Crash on I-15 Shuts Down Interstate

(BLACKFOOT, ID)  — One person was killed Friday afternoon, two more were injured in a one-car rollover on Northbound I-15 just south of the Blackfoot Rest Area.  According to Idaho State Police, the car left the highway, hit the lava rock in the median and rolled.  All three occupants were ejected from the vehicle.   Police shut down the Interstate for close to two hours while they attended to the scene.

Another accident just south of Idaho Falls in the southbound lanes of I-15 saw a semi-truck overturn and dump its load of hay.  Traffic had to be diverted off on the Milepost 119 off-ramp.   No word on injuries there.  No other vehicles were apparently involved.
