(JEFFERSON COUNTY, ID)  —  Jefferson County employee located a possible explosive device at work Tuesday at the Circular Butte Landfill. Sheriff Olsen requested the assistance of the Bonneville County Sheriff’s bomb squad to determine what kind of explosives it was and removed it from the area.

Due to the explosive material being of military grade, an official from Mountain Home Air Force base will arrive Wednesday to dispose of it.

It appeared that it was with some old discarded military memorabilia, from an old garage or basement.

If you encounter those kinds of objects, old ammunition, military ordinance’s please contact your local law enforcement agency rather than discarding it.
