(IDAHO FALLS, ID) – Several area police officers are in favor of a national trend that would lower the legal blood alcohol level to .05.  The National Transportation Safety Board is recommending tougher drunk driving limits in all 50 states. Idaho law puts that legal limit at .08. Officials with the Idaho Falls Police Department say tougher standards have significantly lowered DUI fatality rates across the globe.
