Hemera/Thinkstock(NEW YORK) — The markets teetered between small gains and losses Friday, ticking up just before the closing bell.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average called it a week up 35.87 points, still above the 15,000 mark at 15,118.49.

The Nasdaq Composite added 27.41 points, closing at 3,436.58. Friday marked the Nasdaq’s highest close since November 2000, reports the Wall Street Journal.

The S&P 500 closed up 7.03 points, to close at a record of 1,633.70.
The U.S. Treasury took in a surplus of $113 billion in April, the largest in five years and above expectations. The increase lowered the federal deficit through the first seven months of the budget year, keeping it on pace to be the smallest since 2008.
