(NEW YORK) — Jay-Z can now be referred to as an NBA agent.
Ron Berkowitz, a spokesman for Roc Nation Sports, confirmed to ESPN.com that, as of this week, Jay-Z is now licensed to work as an NBA agent.
Sports Business Journal originally reported the story, adding that Roc Nation Sports president Juan Perez is also certified to work with the NBA.
Jay-Z might be allowed to start signing NBA players once he sells his small ownership share of the Brooklyn Nets. Owners of NBA teams are not allowed to represent players.
The first player expected to sign with Jay-Z is Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kevin Durant.
Durant would be joining New York Yankees second baseman Robinson Cano and New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith as current clients of Jay-Z.
