(ATLANTA) — Injuries continue to hamper the Washington Nationals.
The team placed outfielder Bryce Harper on the 15-day disabled list on Saturday because of bursitis in his left knee.
Harper has missed the last five games and has been bothered by the knee since he crashed into the wall in a May 13 game against the Los Angeles Dodgers. The move was made retroactive to May 27.
The 20-year-old Harper was hitting .287 with 12 home runs and 23 RBIs in 44 games this season for the Nationals.
Washington heads into the weekend with a 28-27 record, 4.5 games back of the Atlanta Braves for first place in the National League East.
