(NEW YORK) — After winning his first NBA Coach of the Year award, George Karl’s days in Denver are no longer, according to Yahoo! Sports.
Karl had one year remaining on his current contract and had been looking for an extension, according to sources.
Karl led the Nuggets to a 57-25 season and has a record of 1,131-756 since coming to Denver in 2005. During his time in Denver, Karl led the team to nine post-season appearances.
Former Denver general manager Masai Ujiri left the team to become the executive vice president of basketball operations of the Toronto Raptors in the offseason.
