(WEST ALLIS, Wis.) — Milwaukee has been very good to Ryan Hunter-Reay as he won the Milwaukee Indyfest at the Milwaukee Mile on Saturday.
Hunter-Reay edged out Helio Castroneves to win at Milwaukee for the the second year in the row. He is the first driver to pull that off since Tony Kanaan back in 200-2007.
The win was even more special for Hunter-Reay as he got to celebrate the win with his son.
“Those last few laps I was thinking, ‘Man, I’ve got to do this for him,'” Hunter-Reay said. “It’s so special, he’s 6-months old, getting to have my little guy here in Victory Lane is the best Father’s Day gift.”
Meanwhile, Castroneves was satisfied with his second-place finish.
“Wasn’t the result we wanted today, but second place, we run the fastest car,” Castroneves said. “We were very consistent again, and I’ll take second place and go very happy home.”
This was the second win of the season for Hunter-Reay.
