The cremation and final viewing happened three days after the Glee star, 31, was found dead in his hotel room Saturday afternoon, and once Monteith’s body was released after an autopsy, the reports said.

The official autopsy found Cory Monteith died with heroin and alcohol in his system.

TMZ first broke the news that Joe Monteith was not invited to the cremation held by McGregor Tuesday.  People magazine later confirmed the details with Joe Monteith.

Joe Monteith told People he was devastated he couldn’t see his son one last time.

“I was all ready to go,” he told the magazine. “My suitcase was packed. I just needed to know where he was and nobody got back to me until after the fact.”

ABC News’ attempts to reach out to Joe Monteith and Cory Monteith’s representative were unsuccessful.
