(NEW YORK) — Stacy Keibler says reports suggesting she ended her relationship with the notorious bachelor George Clooney because she wanted to get married and have kids have no basis in fact.
“Everyone that knows me thinks that is the funniest story because that is the last thing on my mind,” Keibler, 33, said Wednesday on ABC’s Good Morning America.
“I’m I think a little bit different than most woman out there. I don’t really think about that right now,” Keibler, the host of the new Lifetime series Supermarket Superstar, said of marriage.
Keibler said that she and Clooney, whom she started dating in 2011, didn’t even talk about tying the knot. “We didn’t discuss that,” she said on GMA.
One thing the media covering Keibler’s split with Clooney, 52, has gotten right is the fact that the couple ended their romance on good terms.
Keibler, who first shot to fame in 1999 as a member of WCW’s Nitro Girls dance troop, described the split with her movie star-ex as “absolutely” amicable and said that she’s now “doing great.”
Rumors of the end of the couple’s romance first began to emerge as the two were seen on opposite ends of the globe. Clooney was seen celebrating the Fourth of July with friends in Lake Como, Italy, while Keibler has been in Los Angeles and New York gearing up for the premiere of her new Supermarket Superstar show.
The show, premiering July 22 on Lifetime, features contestants pitching their food ideas to a panel of professionals including the founder of Mrs. Fields Bakeries. The goal for the contestants is to get their product onto supermarket shelves.
“It’s not just a show about cooking,” said Keibler. “It’s a show about the American dream, really.”
Keibler took her job as host so seriously that she committed to trying all the products pitched, including bacon and beer jam and protein bars made with crickets.
“He was trying to do something sustainable for the planet,” Keibler said of the contestant. “It just tasted like a protein bar. You wouldn’t have known there were crickets.”
