Indian Airline Hiring Only Thin Women as Flight Attendants
Published at(NEW YORK) — A discount Indian airline called GoAir is cutting some weight to save money on fuel, and its starting with its flight attendants.
According to The Times of India, the carrier will only hire slimmer female flight attendants from this point forward, as they’re 30-40 pounds lighter than their male counterparts on average, and that weight savings could save the airline some $500,000 annually.
Deflecting any criticism about sexism, the discount carrier is also cutting back on the thickness of in-flight magazines, and how much water its planes’ tanks will hold for flights.
