(ORLANDO, Fla.) — In a move to bolster their front court, the Orlando Magic signed forward Jason Maxiell to a contract on Thursday. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The 30-year-old Maxiell was originally drafted out of Cincinnati by the Pistons with the 26th overall pick in the 2005 NBA draft. In 523 career games with Detroit, he averaged 6.1 points and 4.4 rebounds in 19.1 minutes per game.
“We’re excited to welcome Jason (Maxiell) and his family to the Magic organization,” said Magic general manager Rob Hennigan in a statement. “Jason brings an element of experience, toughness and resolve to our roster that we feel will benefit our team.”
